Tonight The L Magazine and NAG will host an informational meeting for this year’s Williamsburg Walks. As with last year, every Saturday in June and July, between the hours of noon and 9 pm, Bedford Ave will become a walker’s paradise, with street vendors, sidewalk chalk artists and on-foot pedestrians making Williamsburg’s main street feel like an extension of McCarren Park rather than a bustling boulevard.
While it seems like the event is a-go, there has been some controversy, with local business owners claiming the “street fair” actually hurts business. Looking to learn more about Williamsburg Walks or simply want to voice your opinion about the event? Head to the Williamsburg Walks Information Meeting at 7 pm tonight at the Swinging Sixties Senior Center, located at 211 Ainslie Street at Manhattan Ave.
