Rather than simply let its unused store go to waste, manufacturer MPS has decided to get resourceful and invite notable designers to craft “objects of interest” from materials found in their workshops. The end result: RE/BUILD. Participating designers include David Scott of DESU Design, Simon Eisinger of Lynch/Eisinger/Design, Daniel Harper, and Albert Zollinger & Sandra Wheeler, of Matter Architecture Practice, as well as former DESU intern Elizabeth Cordes and Pratt student John Seward. The show will feature everything from working furniture to working sculpture, and then some.
The exhibit will open today, 5/15, at 7pm and will run through midnight at The Gallery 1889 on Manhattan Avenue. If you can’t make it tonight, RE/BUILD, a Collaborative Design Exhibition will be on display through the 19th, from noon until 5 pm.
