A hot button issue during the race for the 33rd District City Council seat was the Atlantic Yards. People who never mentioned the proposal to me were now talking about it. I was thrilled that the issue was now receiving interest at a street level.
The Walk Don’t Destroy Walk-a-thon is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the city who care about the future of Brooklyn, and the blatant disregard of proper land use procedure. People who care about Eminent Domain abuse and respect for community. People like you.
Please walk with me on Saturday October 17th @ 1pm for a great cause. Click here for the walk route, then donate and add your name to our team.

Where Brooklyn Meets the Sky
Several trends in Bushwick/
Williamsburg/Greenpoint suggest a vision where artists don’t just clear the ground, but also finish the job, their way.
You wake up at 6am to get your butt out the door for a morning run before work. Gear on, you head over to the McCarren Park track, thinking “Man I am so freakin’ productive! Who’s a healthy Brooklynite? Me!”
You reach the track, start doing round one of your cool eight-lap regimen, and see what appears to be a bootcamp workout occurring in the far right corner of the track. Lap two comes around, and these people are now throwing medicine balls and marching in place. Lap 3: crunches while some ridiculously toned man in a turban looks down on them. Your mind goes from self-appreciation to “Dammit, no amount of laps are going to kick my ass like that!” Who is this guy?
