Neighborhood not sweet on Domino condo project [NYPost]
Kill Devil Hill @ 174 Franklin Ave in Greenpoint, currently features a mannequin in military fatigues drinking a cup of joe in the store’s front window. It beckons one to head on in, and to drink in the warmth. Designed to mirror Western-style General Stores, knickknacks abound including: “a range of vintage goods, from workwear to military uniforms. Taxidermy, bones, antlers, and teeth. Trading beads, elk ivory pendants and clocks.”
From handcrafted soaps for $2 and bottle openers-as-keychain ornaments to a $125 women’s bolero-style jacket which dates back to Victorian times. The clothes ersatz exhibits are all hands-on.
