Halloween Harvest Festival at Socrates Sculpture Park
Socrates Sculpture Park presents theHalloween Harvest Festival, an afternoon of face-painting, costume-making, performance, and canine competition. Invoke the spirits and share the stories and legends of Queens.
- 11am – 2pm: Costume-making workshops, led by Socrates artists and Free Style Arts Association
- 11:30am – 2:30pm: Face painting by Agostino Arts
- 1 – 2pm: Annual Canine Costume Contest, with LIC’s Pooches Sport & Spa
- 2 – 3pm: Spooky performances by Variations Theatre Group and In-Sight Dance Company
The Queens Kickshaw will be selling harvest foods throughout the festival. Admission to the festival is free.

Also, join the Greater Astoria Historical Society for a walking tour and learn of the horrors and mysteries of the treacherous East River, from churning whirlpools to electric eels. Starting under the Hell Gate Bridge in Astoria Park, tour participants will stroll through Old Astoria Village and walk along the East River waterfront to Socrates Sculpture Park, where their journey will culminate with ghostly performances of the area’s haunted history.
