  • Shaka, dudes: looks like Roberta’s will be hitting the beach, Rockaway Beach, that is. DNA Info reports that Bushwick’s wood-oven pizza pushers have signed a lease at Beach 96th Street, just blocks away from the erstwhile Rippers, their snack shack colab with Williamburg’s Meat Hook.
  • Liza de Guia’s documentary series, Food Curated, is all about the city’s small-batch food producers. The New York Times has picked it up as a weekly feature, and it starts today. Watch the video of Sonya Samuels putting together her kickass, fruit-based habanero sauce, Bacchanal Pepper Sauce.
  • Heads up, Greenpoint! “Young gun restaurateur Jason Wang is expanding his family’s wildly popular cheap eats chain Xi’an Famous Foods to Greenpoint, Brooklyn.”
  • Like spring and Godzilla, the waterfront feast known as Smorgasburg returns. This year’s whopping lineup of 100 vendors at East River State Park debuts newcomer Fanny Moy, with LA-style seafood tostadas of fish, octopus, shrimp, and fresh, local vegetables. Smorgasburg Kent Ave at No. 7th Street, Saturdays, 11-6
