She Keeps Bees’ debut album, Minisink Hotel, was described by NYC’s Other Music as “the best album you’ve never heard.” Nests, their second full-length record, was admired by the Guardian as “sparse, soulful and defiantly retro.” Their third LP, Dig On, was praised by the BBC as “an album of fire, spirit, and sweat.”

Now, Jessica Larrabee and Andy LaPlant are touring in support of their fourth album, Eight Houses, kicking it off Thursday night at Cameo Gallery. “It Is What It Is”, the first single released from the album, features vocals by Sharon Van Etten. Of Larrabee, Van Etten says “She has one of the best voices I have ever heard, and she has more soul in one finger than most female singers have in our scene.”

“You are worthy / I am worthy,” Van Etten and Larrabee sing. The song is more than worthy; hear it below.

For vinyl nerds: there will be two different pressings of Eight Houses; the American version (from Future Gods) will be on white vinyl. Eight Houses is slated for release on September 16. Two tracks, “It Is What It Is”, and “Owls”, are available on their website.
