The Warsaw went DIY this Sunday when BUST Magazine invaded the Greenpoint eatery/performance space for their Spring Fling Craftacular. From 12pm-7pm, $2 gained craft addicts like myself access to the garden party-themed bazaar, with over 50 indie crafters from around the country gathered to sell everything from feather and bead-encrusted fascinators, to vegan-friendly makeup, to home baked chocolate and rosewater cupcakes.
Admission included access to discussions and demos on gardening and vegan cooking, and submission to a raffle whose prizes included a SINGER quilting machine, a home screenprinting setup (that was used to create customizable BUST tote bags during the event), and a basket filled to the brim with goodies from vendors like meat socks from ASHI DASHI, a glow in the dark screenprint by Seattle Show Posters, Super Beaver undies from Girlie Pants< The event should keep craftheads sated until the Renegade Craft Fair, which, after setting up shop for the last two years in the McCarren Park Pool, will now move back to the park on June 6 and 7. The sneak peak vendor listis already on the website, if you’d like to salivate over purchases to come.
