Brooklyn Greenway Initiative’s PARK(ing) Day
Today, in Cobble Hill, the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative (BGI), along with cities, artists, activists and citizens around the globe will temporarily transform metered parking spaces into public parks and other social spaces, as part of an annual event called “PARK(ing) Day.”
BGI welcomes the public to join them for an afternoon of music, food and fun, all while supporting a good cause.

Help Determine How to Spend $19,500,000 in Greenpoint
Residents of Greenpoint, Brooklyn are invited to help in investing $19,500,000, obtained by the State of New York in a settlement with ExxonMobil, in “Environmental Benefit Projects” (EBPs) in the community. These EBPs will be designed to provide significant environmental improvements in Greenpoint and address environmental areas of concern for the community, such as water quality, groundwater, open space, reduction of toxic pollution, and air quality.

Greenpoint Film Festival 2013—Thursday, September 19 – 22
Now in it’s third year, the Greenpoint Film Festival has doubled in size and scope. The jury-selected films are arranged into these categories: Animation, Narrative, Documentary, Experimental, and Environmental. The selection of films were juried by five respected individuals in the film world.
Opening Reception: Thursday 9/19 @ 6pm – 67 West Street. Tickets and info here.
