  • This is terribly sad. Jim “Mosaic Man” Power began tearing down his multicolored mosaics from lampposts around Astor Place Wednesday as a preemptive strike against the city, which had planned to remove the art, he said.
  • Tens of thousands of protesters from across the United States are expected to fill the streets of Midtown Manhattan on September 21, including an artists alliance from the People’s Climate March, which has set up shop at the newly opened Mayday Bar and Community Arts Space in Bushwick.
  • Gigantic elephant and birdcage murals cover the exterior of the triangle building at 970 Flushing Avenue, site of a soon-to-be-opened restaurant from the owners of nearby 983 Bushwick’s Living Room.
