The MTA has announced that starting today there will be more service on the G line! It’s the weekday they’re talking about, not the weekend, but hey, it’s a start.
What does it mean to you? Trains will operate every 8 minutes instead of every 10 minutes between the hours of 3pm and 9pm, Monday – Friday. That works out to a 25% increase in frequency during rush hour, and into the early evening.
The upgrades were announced Sunday and praised by state Sen. Daniel Squadron, who requested the changes along with state Sen. Martin Dilan and the Riders Alliance.
