beats and bbq labor day cardThe original daytime holiday experience in dance and dine is inviting y’all to their season finale. On Monday, September 1, 2014 from 3 pm to 11 pm at LP ‘n Harmony, Beats & BBQ will provide “Soulful Dance Music, BBQ and You”.

Free plate of food with each beverage purchase. Music is provided by DJs Jose G (The G Spot), Ali Coleman (Voice of Voices NYC), Siren (Save the Robots), and Ray Vazquez (Just Us Worldwide), Eddie S the Dancing DJ (33 1/3 Dance Party), Kyle McNeil (WBAI Pacifica Radio), Tyrone Corley (Fat Traxx 24/7), and Libra Classic (Zodiac Thump). Hosted by Reggie Johnson

Since 2007, Beats & BBQ has been a grassroots event that takes place on the holidays of the summer season (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day). It is a co-production by Deepdance Promotions and LP ‘n Harmony bar. We produce this event to promote community and togetherness through good food, good dance music, and good cheer from our patrons.

night burgers signHot off the heels of June’s Felony Comics Crime Spree, Spectacle Theater and Negative Pleasure Publications presents the Negative Pleasure Labor Day Massacre, a screening of two twisted horror movies in anticipation of the release of NPP’s newest book, Night Burgers, a day-glo comic experience featuring all new work by Victor Kerlow (Everything Takes Forever, The New Yorker), Josh Burggraf (Kid Space Heater, Future Shock), Anthony Meloro (Misper), Jason Murphy (Me Nut Nut Nut), Amy Searles (Jeans Comics) and Ken Johnson (The New York Times).

Join the creators and Negative Pleasure publisher Harris Smith for screenings of SCREAM BLOODY MURDER at 10pm and THE SATAN KILLER at midnight. Start your autumn drenched in blood!

North Brooklyn Farms Harvest Fest Carnival, 8/30

north brooklyn farms harvest carnivalNorth Brooklyn Farms in association with Mass Bliss presents the first annual Harvest Carnival. Celebrate the final weekend of summer at the North Brooklyn Farms Harvest Fest.

Harvest Fest will feature square dancing, hayrides, carnival and field day games, a watermelon eating contest, farm-inspired prizes, DJs, yoga, Zumba, and much more. Throughout the day the barbecue will be fired up and there will be fresh lemonade, beer, wine, and hard cider.

Admission is free and tickets for games and activities are $10 per person or $20 per family in advance. At the door tickets are $12 per person and $25 per family. Tickets provide unlimited access to carnival games and activities and registration into field day events. All ages are welcome. Proceeds go to maintain green open space benefit in South Williamsburg!
